Venny Soldan-Brofeldt

Artist, sculptor, and jewelry designer.

My name is Yara Ajeeb, and I’m a literature student living in Montreal, Canada.

Welcome!

Welcome — and thank you for being here.

My name is Yara, and I was born in Syria before moving to Canada in 2017. I’m currently pursuing an M.A. in English Literature, with dreams of teaching and continuing to write. My work often moves between languages, cultures, and histories — between the Arabic stories that shaped me and the English ones that continue to challenge and inspire me.

This blog began as a small act of preservation: a place to write, remember, and reimagine. Here, I share stories, reflections, and creative pieces that explore identity, humour, exile, and the quiet moments that make us human. I write to celebrate the beauty of Arabic culture, but also to question, translate, and bridge the distances between worlds.

At its heart, this is a space where every emotion and every story is validated and heard. Whether I’m writing about memory, migration, or the absurdities of daily life, my goal is to create connection — to remind myself and my readers that we’re never truly alone in our searching.

Thank you for reading, for listening, and for being part of this journey.

🕊️ Every word here is an attempt to find home — not a place, but a feeling.
