We argue sometimes over stained memories and weary lovers As I mark my days with sharpened pencils time sweeps the dust of my past skimming through my parents arranging my days in sequence, and tilting it all with a slant My pencil snaps and my days scatter Time and I, we play and cry I dash towards the Gods giggling, hoping they'll catch me it's my turn to escape Time urges me to witness the reversal of seasons and the quivering globe until we wander among the clouds Time ceases me pulling my days apart kneading my mornings and nights never pausing - just a moment I plead for it to be calmer move more steadily I'm fatigued I yearn to breathe Yet I weep, my words suspended in a tranquil second that moment when the clock hesitates between now and then later, that millisecond [it's my sovereignty] Time and I, we diverge in uncertainties in the chasm between here and nowhere later, in this millisecond Time relinquishes its grip on my consciousness and for a heartbeat, I breathe.
