In a room crowded with souls
I can feel you
In abandoned neighbour-hoods and empty halls
I can feel you
In dream and in materiality
In imagination and in reality
I can feel you
God created everything in two
One is not meant to exist without the other
And my poetry can’t exist without you
Empty books waiting for your name to be on the cover
Black charcoal cloaks each page
Brewing coffee and burning sage
Wish you were here to fill up my stanzas
Wish you were here to fill up my canvas
Shadows intertwined on the side road
Two figures in the far end, steps slowed
Used to walk in pair
Now I can’t recognize your shadow standing there
Pour a full glass for you
Always give you everything in two
Can’t drink from one cup if the other is empty
Can’t sit on one swing if the other is empty
Can’t exist in one heart if the other is empty
Ever wondered why morning doesn’t exist without night?
Why darkness doesn’t exist without light?
One exists for the other
Can’t be a lover without another lover
Color these pages with dark titian
Hold these poems with a gentle grip
Need two sailors to steer this ship
One plus the other
Can’t have one without another
